The Poop, a subject we called taboo when it comes to discussions.

Of all things I thought about today, little did I realize it will be this shit…

Usually, talking about feces, excrements, or, as we would vulgarly call it “SHIT,” the subject itself is as taboo as how people would treat gore and sex (with the former being obviously less taboo for some individuals), but apparently even with knowledge of their form is crucial to determine whether you’re still as healthy you think you’d be or not.

I happened to have this crossed in mind after going back from the campus clinic today and got the diagnosis that I’ve been hit by food poisoning that causes diarrhea so severe that the constitution of that body waste of mine changed form and color, from what we could consider normal to the one your normal doctors would say that something is not right and will start asking what we have eaten before and when did we eat it plus some other stuff normal people would think that it is very trivial and taboo to some.

And to make my mood drop down further on what is supposed to be a relaxingly nice day was that my diarrhea was to the extent that I soiled my own bed. Very embarrassing since soiling oneself is what is thought to be children’s problem on controlling their bowels and bladder, but it can also mean other medical implications we often cared less about.

Of course, people in the medical science don’t have a branch called gastroenterology for nothing.

And when there’s such a thing like Wikipedia explaining stuff about (literally) this piece called SHIT, I’m starting to wonder if anyone thinks something like telling this to Mr. Poop: “WHY SO SERIOUS?”

… Because it is that serious.

Oh well end of rant. I can rant about this all day long, but it’s pointless if it is about something that’s of the inevitable (although, early avoidance should’ve taken place such as watching what you eat)…

ITT: PCs.

So yesterday I acquired 3DMark06 for benchmarking purposes.

Benchmarking using 3DMark06. I have 3DMark Vantage but I don’t dare to use it, furthermore I’m running benchmarks on the PC which is running Windows XP.

Right now I have no other benchmarking methods available other than 3DMark06.

Hardware Specifications:

CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 2.2GHz
Memory – 2GB DDR2-667
Graphics – ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1024MB GDDR3
Operating System – Windows XP SP3
Test Resolution: 1280 x 1024, 32 bits color, 75 Hertz refresh rate

Software used:

Zotac Firestorm (for overclocking)
GPU-Z ver 0.3.4 (for comparison purposes)
3DMark06 (benchmarking purposes)

Base clock speeds.

3DMark Score: 6795 points

Overclocking round 1.

3DMark Score: 6851 points

Overclocking round 2.

This is the maximum possible I can get, as during the tests my graphic card seems to be hitting its limits, and my monitor began to flicker some anomalies during the test runs.

3DMark Score: 6963 points

I realized that while performance in the HDR/SM3.0 section of the tests continue to improve with the increment of clock speeds, things are not the same in the Shader Model 2.0 aspect in the tests, with the base clock speeds winning out over the overclocked speeds, yet I can’t tell whether the differences made can be dismissed as small or not.

CPU tests, with my current C2D E4500, are horrible; averaging 0.5 fps for the first CPU test and 0.9 fps for the second test. Enough said.

If only I can afford a Core 2 Quad or Core 2 Extreme to complement this.

“Black Box” is the name of my gaming PC, smarties. Because every single hardware on it is black in color. Oh, but not the 80mm casing fan.

The previous motherboard for the PC was broken thanks to lightning, and after much debate of “when this thing shall get fixed” I finally decided to get down to working on it – on my own. And add bonus wireless capability to it – of course by adding a USB wireless adapter to it.

So last Sunday I went down to Lowyat and waited for my dad (who was bringing the budget money I need to buy the stuff). In the meanwhile I took the opportunity to look around and survey some shops (I only went through to look at Cycom and Thundermatch though) to compare prices, although I was somehow distracted by a movie playing in the monitors of one section in the Thundermatch shop. But at least long enough for me to patiently wait for my dad.

Then, he came and next comes the shopping part. We decided to go to Thundermatch since I found out they actually sell stuff cheaper than Cycom which is a relief to my budget.

To add more to my relief my target motherboard is an Asus P5Q SE Plus which is priced at RM339, 61 ringgits cheaper than my planned budget.

Sweet cheap stuff.

Since I had quite a good balance to spend on, I quickly surveyed over the USB wireless adapters and decided to go for a D-Link instead. I’d prefer Belkin although it’s not present in the shop’s stock list, not sold there perhaps?

Finally, wireless for the PC!

After that, I and my dad went our ways, he has to go home while I have to go back to my campus. Finished buying around 4 or something, and we both knew this is the time to rush; since people will be rushing to break their fasting around nightfall (Maghrib for us Muslims).

After I got back I quickly started work on the motherboard, disassembling the stuff inside etc, quite some confusions there and here, but nevertheless the work was done.

Although it took me quite a while to figure out why nothing showed up on my display even after the correct connections was made. But that was also settled in after that. Finally, Black Box is UP AND HEALTHY AGAIN!

One nice thing about this new motherboard is that I don’t need to log on to Windows to start going online, ifgoing online is the only thing I’ll ever do. Ah, but it surely will prove useful when I want to be quick and brief.

Too bad I don’t have enough money to make it a full-fledged performance rig, and that I’ll have to make myself hate Intel processor series for being so good they’re expensive, thank goodness their motherboards aren’t much pain to the money, LOL. While for AMD, even for their cheaper prices for the CPU units, I can’t forgive their motherboards much either. Well, since my choice of motherboard can take on Intel Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Extreme, these two might be an option for me in the future – of course it’ll be when I’ll be able to afford it.

TUDM Sukhoi SU-30MKM. LOLWUT?

It’s been a while since I even wrote anything for my blog, let alone have a sudden art dump, so here I will proceed.

All that’s here are all mine.

So we have seen all the stuff in my previous list already aired, I don’t know whether I should add more or not; but for now I’ll try to give my first impressions of what I’ve seen up to now And of course, I’m copypasta-ing content from that previous list, and what next? Rewrite them, that’s what I’ll do! Anyway, I don’t want to waste much time so I’ll start right away.

1. Bakemonogatari

Believe me or not, but she actually weighs less than a paper. Why? Watch this and you'll know.

What is it about?

So Mr. Wikipedia told me: “Bakemonogatari centers on Koyomi Araragi, a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjōgahara, who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi’s arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics. After being threatened by her, Koyomi offers her help, and introduces her to Meme Oshino, a middle-aged homeless man who helped him stop being a vampire. The series tends to introduce only one new heroine per chapter, each involved with a different “apparition”. The events of the previous chapters play an important role in the subsequent ones. The series primarily focuses on conversations between characters; it contains a fair number of parodies of other series, as well as Nisio Isin’s trademark wordplay and metahumor.”

My impressions after it has started:

As I have predicted with Nisio Isin’s involvement in this series, SHAFT+Shinbo+Isin somehow managed to turn this show into something you’d never expect; with the use of somewhat idiosyncratic style ranging from the style of presentation, the flow of the story and of course, the eyecandies – no, I don’t mean Tsubasa’s (sorry, got that mixed up earlier) panties.

I’d love to see those who watched this show and expected something really generic, but then finishes with a feeling of intrigue… well, they do bear in mind that this show is a SHAFT+Shinbo (which I hear a certain someone complaining), but I think most of the time everyone seems to forgot the name Nisio Isin. Although I only had all but a chance to see a box of Nisio Isin’s “Nisemonogatari” (somehow a continuation of the Bakemonogatari novel) but… well, yeah. So far my best bits of information about this guy comes from Wikipedia, and I have no plans to explore it further.

I don’t want to go into detail since I prefer generic explanations unlike other anime bloggers who tend to blog in-depth details of most series by episodes (and heck, I don’t consider myself an anime blogger at all), so here’s what I think about this anime so far:

“Very untypical, has a style that can make you question ‘What the hell did I just watch,’ contains lots of wordplay which would be sweet for you seeking to make your weeabo tongue knowledge in Japanese better (albeit somehow confusing), throw away the fact that this is a Shinbo+SHAFT show if you really don’t like them much. Consider this as a Nisio Isin show.”

2. CANAAN

I want to look beyond Alphard's jacket. No, not beyond her tank top, because I have no interest for the removal of that little clothing she has to cover her chest.

What is it about?

So Mr. Wikipedia told me: “Canaan is an anime television series, conceptualized by Type-Moon co-founders Kinoko Nasu and Takashi Takeuchi, based on the scenario that they created for the Nintendo Wii visual novel 428: Fūsasareta Shibuya de, which is noted for being one of the few games to be have been awarded a perfect score by games publication Famitsu.”

My impressions after it has started:

The first episode was awesome, and thanks to a certain someone at a certain anime forum who told the rest of the forum lurkers to “You don’t need to actually play 428 ~Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de~ to enjoy this.” And I wholeheartedly agree, the animation was awesome thanks to PA Works, and also I heard the animation character designs were made by the same designer for True Tears – which simply means, “HELL YEAH!”

But if I want to digress on one thing here, though, is the constant talk that “this is a Type-Moon anime.” And that’s how I see it is generalized. Sure, Type-Moon did make a scenario in 428, it’s Nasu and Takeuchi who were behind the scenario, and Canaan is somehow a continuity for the said scenario.

Even then… I do believe, in all honesty, the credits for making the Canaan-featured route possible in the VN is actually Chunsoft. CHUNSOFT. YEAH. And bear in mind that Nasu and Takeuchi works for the scenario and not the entire VN.

Well, logically, if Chunsoft did not make 428 happen, would there be Canaan? I don’t think so.

With that said, here’s what I think for Canaan.

“Awesome visuals, character design by same designer for True Tears, animation done by PA Works which also made True Tears; nice detail of Canaan’s sniper rifle at the start of the episode, may I ask what model it is since I’m not very familiar with it? No Canaan, Maria, and Alphard for Nasuverse, you guys!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!! This won’t be included in the Nasuverse even though Nasu wrote it, Alphard looks… uh, delicious, no I’m not going to eat her; also “Maria Oosawa” looks so cute and sounds so hot, I had confusion with “Maria Ozawa” it seems; wow Mystic Eyes of DeathPerception no, wait, Mystic Eyes of Sensory Perception uhh wait WTF this is not Nasuverse so Synesthesia, it is.”

3. Sora no Manimani

It seems that my GUITARZ will ever be on standby as long as this series still run; but looks like for this anime I'm sold.

What is it about?

So Mr. MAL (MyAnimeList.net) told me: “Saku Ooyagi returns to his hometown after seven years and is soon reacquainted with his childhood friend, Mihoshi Akeno. The reunion is far from merry since the last memory they have of each other is of her falling off a tree and him saving her. In any case, Mihoshi is determined to improve their relationship and forces Saku to join the astronomy club she founded.”

My impressions after it has started:

I somehow found myself pretty liking this anime at the start of it, because for some reasons that really fit into my interests.

Yeah, relevant to my interests.

Let’s see what in my interests list that made me watch this show. And by this list, you’ll see that I’m a total sucker who can’t resist seeing these things happen in an anime.

• Girl likes boy very much, glomps him and chases him around even if he is against it. CHECK.
• Girl’s older while the boy’s younger. CHECK. (If only Akeno is taller. But the age range fits nicely to this requirement of mine, so yeah.)
• Boy snaps! CHECK! KEEP SNAPPING, BOY! I need to see more male leads like you. And you’re one of the very lucky few!
• Nice way to cool down whenever girl gets the boy snapped. CHECK. But I’m too ego to accept that the following scenes were so heartwarming that I fear I might lose my beloved manliness. No, seriously.
• Girl’s not gonna get him easy – more girls are going to get him! CHECK!

But my oh-not-so-accurate “Spider Sense” still warns me about a potential tearjerker which is going to happen – or has it happened already? If yes then I’m in woe.

Anyway it seems that this anime really loves pushing stuff from this “3D world” or from other se**es (censor intentional. Get used to it) into it as references, although not so… uh, VIRAL as how a few certain anime titles do.

So the wall of text which summarizes my even greater walls of text for this one:

Probably even better than the show I’m going to talk about next right below this line, somewhat educational (yes I didn’t know we could use such a technique to see black spots on the sun), LOL ASTRONOMY MAGAZIEN IN MY ANIMU? (Google 「星ナビ] for those of you who doesn’t know), and what else should I say? Oh, everything’s up there in my “can’t resist to happen things” up there.

4. Princess Lover!

I'm already having black ops on standby, will deploy at will.

What is it about?

So Mr. MAL (MyAnimeList.net) told me: “Arima Teppei lost his parents in a traffic accident. His grandfather Isshin adopted him by force and ordered him to succeed the head of Arima Group Corporation. At Shuuhou Gakuen, a high school only for wealthly students, Teppei’s new life as a celebrity starts.”

My impressions after it has started:

Ugh, aristocrats, “royalties,” whatever. Just die, if you’re not using your money to help the society and the poor or are busy flaunting your social status while demeaning the society of commoners and the poor, or are just too busy being in love with another aristocrat or a royalty. I’m getting strong urges to call for black ops to kill ‘em.

And I DID NOT and won’t change my decision after seeing the episode. Assassin lead this is Reaper, lock and load. I repeat, LOCK AND LOAD. Be on standby until further orders are given. Reaper out.

You see, I’ve this certain grudge against nobleties, royalties whatever they might be. The real problem is that they’re rich. Yeah, because they’re rich.

Especially if a peasant came across one and you know what will be in his mind? “This rich man is useless, he looks like he has lots of money but I don’t think he can help me out of poverty or even enhance my small business of selling dumplings and ramen by the roadside; which is already small and being used for the expenses of my OVER 9000 family members which I must support for our daily survival.”

Okay now back to the anime. I’ve seen quite a number of anime adapted from eroge and honestly, I am not very pleased with what I can get from them so far. So what I thought was, “why does every single eroge adaptation give me this very bland and generic feeling?” and that statement includes this series. No, do NOT ask me to play the eroge or I’ll find you and punch you in the face, whoever you are. Unless if I’m kind enough to keep my fist stay low, though.

Without further ado, here’s the simpler wall of text.

Rich people, princesses and carriages (USE A FUCKING LIMOUSINE INSTEAD YOU SPOILED HAG), people wanting to kill them (go ahead, or if they have something nice I can spend on, I’ll kill you guys first then proceed to annihilate everyone else and that includes your targets), YET ANOTHER EROGE ANIMU ADAPTATION disregard that, I suck straws; I wish a downer ending for this series where… well, if key characters die, it’ll be awesome.

5. Umi Monogatari

No matter how I look at them, they reek of saltwater.

What is it about?

Marin and her sister Urin live in the sea. One day they find a ring fallen into the sea. They get out of the sea and meet a girl Kanon, the owner of the ring. Kanon tells them she doesn’t want the ring anymore because it was given by her boyfriend whom she just broke up with, and she throws it into the sea again. Marin thinks Kanon is still in love with him and looks for the ring. But she accidentally breaks a seal on the sea floor…

My impressions after it has started:

ARARARARARARRR I’M A SHARK I’M A SHARK SUCK MY D– yeah right as if that will ever happen. But who knows? But even if that’s going to happen I’m already losing faith of following this series. First, WHERE ARE MY MANLY MEN! Oh wait, the turtle is there. NO! THAT’S KAME ROSHI! Uh, nope.

But still. Where are the boys? Don’t tell me Kanon’s ex-boyfriend is going to the first and the last boy to have one of the main girls I am going to see (and miss) for this series. I don’t like shows who have too much of human girls and not even at least a human boy (KAME ROSHI, you’re not one, so thank you) to be inside the group. Don’t ask me why.

Also, everything – from fight scenes – to music – to pacing – makes me want to sleep. And all of this is bordering to make me drop this show and replace it with Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, and even that will go through my ‘challenge’ first to see whether it really fits with what some people have anticipated for like this certain someone whose I’ve only seen, skin and flesh, just once.

6.  Umineko No Naku Koro Ni

Wow, and I'm back in the 80's? Where's my Back To The Future car!?

What is it about?

So Mr. MAL says: “Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes place in 1986 during the time frame of October the 4th and the 5th on a secluded island named Rokkenjima (六軒島). The head of the wealthy Ushiromiya family, Kinzō Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eleven of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzō’s assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are five of Kinzō’s servants, and his personal physician. After the eleven family members arrive, a typhoon traps them on the island and shortly after people start to get mysteriously murdered. (Source: Baka-Tsuki)”

My impressions after it has started:

What turns me on to put this into list: Mystery.

And I get what I wished for.

Although I can’t do a sloppy work of watching this like, shortening the whole episode from 30 minutes to a mere 4 minutes or so. And man that isn’t fun, I want to make everything FAST! But yeah, I need to settle down a bit.

Unfortunately for some who I might think will read this and object, I can only see this below Canaan and Bakemonogatari. Well, yeah, this is one of the fun things about blogging. All we’re doing is just stating whatever we think, and it’s not like we are judges of a competition or something, right? If anyone says something is bad and we don’t like it, all we need to do is blog about how good that thing is, right? Ah, whatever.

Mystery even to the point of how the Ushiromiya head can get so filthy rich to why he wants to see this Beatrice person so much, OMG Itsuki Koizumi Battler is a pervert!, and gets smacked shortly by his tsundere cousin (who I must admit she’s hot in her own right), Nice boat? More like Nice Island, quite recommendable, and period. What? PERIOD. The sentence-ending dot punctuation mark.

What I think about this:

Having seen the trailers/PVs/whatever and also after quite a while stalking  the main site for updates, I had to say it feels like it’s going to look good (and I do hope it does live to it, although I can never ask for too much of it) and as for a show that’s going to look good for me, I find responses and under-anticipation for this series quite disturbing. I wonder if it has anything  to do with the common attitude that I see in some, which is “Not very welcoming of new and never-heard-of stuff?” Anyway, I hope that changes after the series start airing, which would be around 2 weeks time after this post.

tl;dr

We’re sooo going to be at the mercy of Shinbo and Isin.

Type-Moon fans surely are joicing over this anime’s existence because the two spearheads of Type-Moon are involved in this. To be honest though, I’m kinda sucked in by that fact, too. I’d like to feel that CANAAN is not going to be a part in Nasuverse’s  wide and complex universe (curse you, Zelretch, you slider. ) but somehow I believe I’m in disagreement with some other “professors” who lectures followers of Type-Moon of the Nasuverse. Okay, that’s a crude joke (I think it is rude without the C) but yeah, it’s what I think honestly. Or maybe Nasu will prove me wrong and make this a part of his vast Nasuverse or maybe it’ll go vice-versa, who knows. After all CANAAN’s status in the Nasuverse hasn’t been confirmed yet. Anyway, this is going to be the kind of show I’m so going to like after Darker Than Black… maybe.

My… uh, “senses” prompted me to keep this on watch in my list… by “recon.” D’uh, usage of the terms makes me sound cheesy, yeah. Anyway I just wonder why I wanted this in my list in the first place, although I feel like there’s gonna be a moment where… well, as the pic caption says, “I’ll have to pull out TEH GUITARZ.” Sure, it looks like it’s going to be your average lovecom, but inside I feel like there’s going to be “The Tearjerker Of Doom” (just in my own terms) that’ll be somehow… uh, intense that I’ll require TEH FORCE OF TEH GUITARZ to repel it. Anyway, I expect Akeno’s crush on Saku to not go… unrivaled. LET THERE BE POLYGONS!

tl;dr

Rom-Com? Heh, spare me the jokes, I know you’re hiding the Tearjerker of Doom somewhere. Off before I get TEH GUITARZ. (despite saying this, I still am going to watch it.)

Marin and her sister Urin live in the sea. One day they find a ring fallen into the sea. They get out of the sea and meet a girl Kanon, the owner of the ring. Kanon tells them she doesn’t want the ring anymore because it was given by her boyfriend whom she just broke up with, and she throws it into the sea again. Marin thinks Kanon is still in love with him and looks for the ring. But she accidentally breaks a seal on the sea floor…

What I think about this:

ARARARARARARRR I’M A SHARK I’M A SHARK SUCK MY D– whatever etc. But seriously, let me bite these two girls before going on with the story. Heh. Just kidding, but oh yea, you saw through it already.

But yeah, I haven’t seen this kind of stories for quite a long time, so I wonder how it’s going to turn out. Hopefully pleasant.

tl;dr

Watching it now though. OP/ED makes me sleep far much better than anything else. Pandora Box opened from the very start. And “PREDICTABLE!” (vc: Geese Howard) ensues.

6.  Umineko No Naku Koro Ni

What is it about?

So Mr. MAL says: “Umineko no Naku Koro ni takes place in 1986 during the time frame of October the 4th and the 5th on a secluded island named Rokkenjima (六軒島). The head of the wealthy Ushiromiya family, Kinzō Ushiromiya, who lives on and owns Rokkenjima, is near death, and eleven of his family members arrive on the island to discuss how Kinzō’s assets will be divided once he is dead. Also on the island are five of Kinzō’s servants, and his personal physician. What I think about this:

What turns me on to put this into list: Mystery.

What is going to turn me off: … Uh, too much anticipation perhaps? For some reason probably I knew that who made Higurashi made this, so yea. But… try to keep that in mind and tone down on reminding me about that a bit, okay!?

But yeah. I decided to be more open and sometimes I’d like to try some of these.

Okay right now I’m done with the lists for the TV ones. Can’t be too bothered to talk about movies unless there’s a way for me to catch it right at the time it is airing. Also, OVA’s are going to make this already long post too long to read.

It’s been a while since I last blogged about anything especially when it comes to these three stuff: Anime, manga and games.

Lately, I have been running on an insanity streak. Or probably not.

Okay let’s nitpick on what I want to babble about, all directly typed here with little thought or planning.

Anime

As much as all of us acknowledge, there are “bad” animes and there are “good” ones, but well there’s this point of the day where I stopped to be able to distinguish between the general “rules of good and bad” and began watching some handful of titles which some people will either say “ZOMG IT’S AEWSEOM UHAHUHAHUHAHUHA” or “it’s a goddamn suxx0rz shiet i dun even know why it exists” and more often I’ll find both kinds of comments will exist for like, almost every goddamn title out there that ever be.

So I decided to let my personal tastes take over like how a demon would possess a person to the point of making myself look like a dumbed statue in front of the monitor, and find that there’s no exact solution to what is real good and what is real bad; and it all boils down to personal preferences. Sure, I can sense someone is going to say I’m so indecisive that I really “suck” (yeah, that kind of “suck” whenever we’re talking about profanities, of all things) a lot; but I have attempted to see both the bad stuff and the good stuff people always talk about/refrain from doing so and this is all I could ever come with.

Which is, our very culprit of it all – the “personal preferences” we all speak of whenever we attempt to be neutral on a particular title. So the reason why a show can be “popular” is because many people share the same preferences over it, and vice versa.

All in all it comes down to what we have to say for a certain title for ourselves and not for the others. Kind of selfish, eh; since we will more than often find people who can’t agree with us and soon we find ourself baffled with questions like, “What do you mean it’s not awesome?” It’s an individual thing, really.

Manga

Lately, with the attitude of “Grab and read whatever I feel like it” had me end up with various titles I don’t think I can even remember in a blink of an eye, not to mention some of them had really long titlenames I can’t bother remember them, thus forcing me to rely on my subconscious to tell me “Hey, you read this before. This is a newer chapter, go read it.”

But thanks to that I managed to land myself quite more than a handful of titles I deemed “worth reading.” Medaka Box was one of the honorable mentions as how someone here addresses it with his lines, “surprisingly enjoyable manga”, which I had to agree – since it just turned awesome on the very first chapter I read it. But to me almost every manga I love to read had a headstart made of awesome, it seems.

Also one more title just got to my attention – Choku!. I’m too lazy to describe it here so please look into it for yourselves, aye.

And thanks to that attitude I managed to find an uploaded (I’m not telling sources here, look for yourself please) first chapter of a manga I’ve been putting my lookouts on, Misumaruka Koukoku Monogatari.

And thanks to that attitude as well, I’ve gotten so busy reading manga that I think I can even leave most of my new anime episode being left in my HDD still unwatched as I continue this… err, voyage of my own.

Games

I’m taking more interest in games, although it’s still like; I’m still afraid to actually play them for real. Right now I’m into Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X., a game in which I irritatingly find people constantly comparing it to the Ace Combat series. Oh well, what did I do? All I did was just ignore ‘em, simple as that. I play games to enjoy playing them, not to say “OMG THIS GAEM ROXX0RZ” or vice-versa. I just wanted to play, that’s all. So what?

And having said it, it occured to me that…

“What really makes a game suck is when you can’t enjoy it.“

In which, I find it true for almost everyone I can think of. Why will a game be awesome if nobody can’t play or enjoy it? And as such, I know I had a lot of… um, certain “grudges” against certain games all because I can’t get to play them. Forget all the goddamn bloody consoles, it seems that this house certainly hates them because gaming is all the consoles are for, and to be honest, this house certainly doesn’t find them useful for everyday Internet surfing, reading manga, typing work documents etc etc blah blah blah, and the only thing they can do for the house? Wasting money, electricity and space (my house is cramped due to… uh, stuff) is all they can give to house, so they think – and to make matters worse, I agree with them.

But this doesn’t stop for my craving to play. Of course, with Assassin’s Creed 2 looking awesome and gonna be out near the end of the year, I don’t see a reason I’ll stop playing anything I like to.

… Well, if all of the above looks incomprehensible to any of you peeps reading this, here’s a TL;DR version of what I actually wanted to say:

“I like doing stuff my own way, and there’s no such things as graded as awesome or suck in it, just do it.“

What matters of it? It’s whether YOU feel awesome or suck by doing it, smarties. YOU, not everyone else.

Connection Speed Caps…

… is apparently the worst thing I’ve ever heard in my life.

Experienced during one of my rare visits to an Internet outlet over here in this oh-how-I-am-so-bored-already residency college.

Wait, what makes it so bad over here?

With connection speed caps, you won’t:

• Be able to download a MP3 file which usually takes you a short time. You can, although it’ll take more than twice the amount of time you actually need.
• Open more than a single web Page at a time. ‘Nuff said.
• Online gaming. Period. Happy getting timed out from the server due to lost connection thanks to the speed caps, whee!

What makes it worse is that the speed cap over here is cumulative – in other words, the speed caps include your happy IM-ing connections, downloads, web-surfing, everything – as long as they use the Internet, they’ll tally up to your bandwidth usage before it hits the speed cap. After it hits the limits, your downloads won’t go any faster and any more connections that requires the use of your current line will probably fail.

And this is done while I’m downloading a 24MB file (to be exact, the oh-so-new IE8). As you can see, you’d probably wonder where the rest of the data packets went, after seeing my connection suffer that high amount of data loss. My conclusion? They went nowhere! So take this as a lesson: do NOT go to cybercafés practicing speed capping on their units (Yeah, irony on me).
